Empowering Women to Build Independent Lives
At Yes We Can, we focus on skill development and livelihood generation for women from underserved communities through structured training programs and ongoing support initiatives.
Skill Development Training Programs
We conduct structured tailoring and stitching training programs for women, organized in small batches with a defined duration. Each program focuses on hands-on learning, including basic stitching techniques, garment making, and practical exposure to real work scenarios.
Participants also receive introductory sessions on entrepreneurship and financial literacy to help them understand income planning, savings, and managing small earnings.
Livelihood Support
After completing the training, women are supported in starting home-based work. We guide them on how to take small orders, interact with customers, and identify earning opportunities within their communities. Where possible, we also help connect them with local demand.
Community-Based Support Activities
In addition to skill training, we conduct small-group sessions focused on confidence-building, awareness, and peer support. These sessions create a safe space for women to share experiences, build self-confidence, and grow together.
Our Impact So Far

Impact Story: A Step Towards Self-Reliance
Sunita, a 35-year-old woman and mother of two, had no stable source of income and depended on irregular support to manage her household. She joined one of our tailoring training batches with no prior experience.
During the training, she learned basic stitching skills and gradually gained confidence through regular practice and guidance. After completing the program, she started taking small tailoring orders from her neighborhood.
Today, Sunita contributes to her family income through home-based work. Her journey reflects how access to practical skills and consistent support can help women take the first step toward financial independence.
Our Approach to Women’s Empowerment
We believe empowerment comes through practical opportunities and equal access. Our programs encourage:
- Independent decision-making in personal and financial matters
- Equal access to skill development and livelihood opportunities
- Respect and dignity in both home and work environments
- Safe and supportive spaces for learning and working
We focus on enabling women to take gradual, practical steps toward self-reliance through skills, confidence, and community support.
