Non-Communicable Diseases: Understanding the Growing Health Challenge
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, diabetes, and anaemia are among the leading health concerns globally. According to recent global estimates, NCDs account for nearly 74% of all deaths worldwide, with a significant burden in low- and middle-income communities.
In India, these conditions are increasingly affecting individuals due to changing lifestyles, limited awareness, and restricted access to preventive healthcare services. Early screening and timely guidance can play a crucial role in managing these risks.
A Story of Change
During one of our community health camps, a young child from a low-income household participated in a basic health screening for the first time. The screening indicated the need for further medical attention, and the family was guided to connect with a nearby healthcare provider.
With timely awareness and support, the family was able to take informed steps toward better health. This reflects how access to basic screening and information can create meaningful change.

Why This Matters
Non-communicable diseases often develop silently and may go unnoticed without regular check-ups. Limited awareness and access to healthcare can delay timely action.
Promoting early screening and preventive awareness helps individuals make informed health decisions and supports the development of healthier communities.
Together, we are working towards a future where healthcare awareness and access are within everyone’s reach.
