Education Drive 2026: Because Every Child in India Deserves a Desk, Not a Dead End
Somewhere in Delhi right now, a seven-year-old is sitting on a dusty pavement instead of a school bench. Not because she doesn’t want to learn. Not because she isn’t bright. But because nobody showed up for her.
Yes We Can India is showing up.
Our Education Drive 2026 is a year-long, city-wide campaign to get underprivileged children off the streets and into classrooms — and keep them there. Through direct enrolment support, learning materials, scholarships, and community outreach, we are turning the aspiration of free quality education for every child into an actual, measurable reality in Delhi NCR.
This page tells you everything you need to know: what the drive is, why it matters, how it works, and exactly what you can do today to be part of it.
Why India Still Needs an Education Drive in 2026
India has 1.4 billion people and a vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047. That vision runs on one fuel: an educated population. Yet tens of millions of children — disproportionately from urban slums, migrant families, and marginalised communities — remain out of school or trapped in underfunded, overcrowded classrooms where real learning rarely happens.
The numbers are sobering. According to government data, India has over 26 million out-of-school children, many of them concentrated in dense urban pockets like the ones Yes We Can India works in every day across New Delhi. These are children who fall through the cracks not because of a lack of policy, but because of a lack of ground-level action.
Policies don’t feed children breakfast before school. Policies don’t walk a first-generation learner’s parent through the enrolment form. Policies don’t sit beside a struggling child and make sure she understands long division.
People do. Organisations do. You do — when you choose to act.
That is what the Education Drive 2026 is built on: the belief that systemic change happens one child, one family, one community at a time, and that organisations like Yes We Can India exist to be the connective tissue between government schemes, corporate goodwill, and the families who need it most.
What Is the Yes We Can India Education Drive 2026?
The Education Drive 2026 is not a one-day event. It is not a press release. It is a structured, 12-month education campaign running from January to December 2026, built around four pillars of action:
1. Enrolment and Access
Thousands of children in Delhi’s underserved communities are not enrolled in any school. Their families — often daily-wage earners, domestic workers, or migrants — navigate a maze of paperwork, language barriers, and systemic distrust. Our field teams go door to door, sit with families, help them understand their rights under the Right to Education Act, and walk them all the way through the enrolment process. We do not stop at awareness. We stop at the school gate, when the child walks in on the first day.
2. Scholarships and Sponsorship
Even when a child is enrolled in a government or low-fee school, the cost of education is never truly zero. Uniforms, stationery, books, transport, and exam fees add up fast for a family earning ₹8,000 a month. Through our Corporate CSR partnerships and individual donor programme, Yes We Can India connects children directly with sponsors who cover these costs in full. One sponsor. One child. One year’s education. It is that direct.
3. Remedial Learning and Life Skills
Getting a child into school is chapter one. Keeping her there — and making sure she is actually learning — is the whole book. Our remedial education sessions, run by trained volunteers and educators, target children who are two or more grade levels behind their peers. We pair academic catch-up with life-skills workshops: critical thinking, communication, personal hygiene, digital literacy, and the kind of self-belief that no textbook teaches but every child needs.
4. Community Sensitisation and Parent Engagement
Education does not happen only inside classrooms. It happens when a father decides his daughter’s studies matter as much as his son’s. It happens when a mother understands that keeping a child home to work is a short-term gain and a lifelong loss. Yes We Can India runs regular community sessions — in local languages, in neighbourhood spaces — to shift mindsets, reduce dropout rates, and build a culture where education is not a privilege, it is simply what happens in this community.
Who the Education Drive 2026 Serves
We work primarily with children between the ages of 4 and 18 from the following communities in and around New Delhi:
- Urban slum settlements where school enrolment remains inconsistent and dropout rates are high
- Migrant worker families whose children frequently change cities and lose continuity in schooling
- Children of daily-wage labourers who are at risk of being pulled into child labour
- Girls from conservative households where secondary education is considered non-essential
- Children with mild learning differences who have been overlooked or pushed out of mainstream classrooms
Every child we work with has a name, a story, and a potential that has nothing to do with the postcode they were born into. The Education Drive 2026 exists to make sure that potential does not go to waste.
Yes We Can India: A Track Record You Can Trust
Yes We Can India is a registered non-profit trust headquartered in New Delhi. For years, we have worked at the intersection of child education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, senior citizen care, and environmental awareness — always with an emphasis on community-led, ground-up action.
Our child education work has helped hundreds of children access scholarships and stay enrolled in school. Our CSR partnerships with Delhi-based and national corporations have funded learning kits, remedial sessions, and infrastructure in community learning centres. Our volunteers — students, professionals, retirees — have collectively poured thousands of hours into tutoring, mentoring, and event facilitation.
We are fully registered, transparent with our accounts, and committed to showing every donor and partner exactly how their contribution is used. Because trust, like education, is built one honest action at a time.
How You Can Be Part of the Education Drive 2026
There are four ways to join this drive. Each one is real. Each one creates change. Choose the one that fits your life right now.
Donate to Sponsor a Child’s Education
A contribution of as little as ₹2,000 can cover a child’s school supplies for an entire year. Larger contributions fund full scholarships, including fees, uniforms, books, and transport. Every rupee is accounted for, and we send updates to our donors on the children their support reaches.
You can donate online on our secure donation page. One-time or monthly — both make a real difference. Donate to the Education Drive 2026 here.
Volunteer Your Time
If you can spare two hours a week — whether as a tutor, a storyteller, a career mentor, or an event coordinator — we have a place for you. Yes We Can India’s volunteer network spans students, working professionals, homemakers, and retired educators. No special qualification required. Just a genuine desire to show up.
Partner Through Your Company’s CSR
Education is one of the most eligible and impactful categories under India’s CSR mandate (Schedule VII, Companies Act 2013). Yes We Can India works with corporations of all sizes to design, execute, and report on CSR education programmes that meet compliance requirements and create genuine community impact. We provide full documentation, field reports, and impact data.

Spread the Word
Share this page. Share our social media posts. Tell your colleagues about the Education Drive 2026 at the next team lunch. Talk about it in your college WhatsApp group. Word of mouth is still the most powerful force for social change — and it costs nothing except a moment of your attention.

The Moment to Act Is Now
Here is what we know for certain: the children who need the Education Drive 2026 are not waiting for a perfect time. They are growing up right now, in neighbourhoods not far from where you are reading this, in a city that has the resources to educate every single one of them — but needs people like you to make that intention real.
Yes We Can India has been doing this work, quietly and consistently, for years. We know these communities. We know these children. We know that change is possible because we have seen it happen — a child who couldn’t read at age nine, fluent and confident by age eleven. A girl whose family thought school was a luxury, now the first in her family to clear her Class X board exams.
These stories do not write themselves. They are written by donors who said yes. By volunteers who showed up on a Tuesday morning. By companies that chose education as their CSR cause. By people who shared a post and sparked a conversation that led someone else to act.
The Education Drive 2026 needs you. Not a future, better-resourced version of you. You, today, with whatever you have to give.
Donate to the Education Drive 2026. Sponsor a child’s year of school. Fund a classroom kit. Cover a girl’s exam fees. Whatever you give, it goes further than you think.
Or sign up to volunteer. Or explore a CSR partnership. Or simply pick up the phone: +91 9990022447.
We are here. The children are waiting. Let’s make 2026 the year we close the gap.
